Have you ever had a song that you just can’t get out of your head? I find that many songs of praise resonate and touch my soul, offering peace and reassurance. Tauren Wells and H.E.R. have collaborated on a song called Hold Us Together. https://www.msn.com/en-ph/entertainment/other/fil-am-singer-her-and-tauren-wells-greet-their-kapuso-fans/ar-BB1gkx1j
Lyrics
I will trust in you and know
that you are with me forever
I’ll confide in you ‘cause
you’re the only answer that matters.
Even in the darkness, you will be my light
Even when I’m hopeless you will be my guide
I will not be shaken, I will not be moved
Even in the chaos I know you’re good.
You’re the keeper, protector
It is you that holds us together
When everything else fails us
It is you that holds us together.
As the news radiates the travesties around the world, division within our borders, and fear of COVID, I find myself seeking solace with my heavenly father who “holds the whole world in His hands.” I particularly like Hold Us Together because it reminds me that as we swirl about in the chaos, we have One who protects us, loves us and cares for our wellbeing. God alone is in control.
God’s tremendous love for us is evident in the sacrifice of His son Jesus. We can count on him to be in the trenches with us facing each challenge and offering us fortification and abundant hope for tomorrow. Just as a loving father holds and protects his child, God is cradling each one of us in his loving arms.
Deuteronomy 31:8
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
“Moses spoke these words to Joshua as he commissioned him to take the Israelites into the Promised Land. But we can glean from these words the hope and confidence today that God goes before us, He walks alongside us, and He’s got our backs. He will not leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) and He is well aware of all that is happening, all that has happened, and all that will happen according to His wisdom, His love, and His plan. We do not need to fear when we have God in control of our future.”
You’re the keeper, protector
It is you that holds us together
When everything else fails us
It is you that holds us together.
